Nov 19, 2016· Surface grinding issues - burn marks on my workpiece. I was surface grinding eight round workpieces on my new 6 x 18" surface grinder which has 2-axis powerfeed yesterday. Workpieces were about 2" diameter and 1/2" thick and had been faced each side on the lathe. Workpiece material 1018 CRS. I am using soluble oil coolant on the grinder.
